About this Nominee

The Suisun City Youth Commission is a grass-roots community organization created for the benefit of Suisun City and youth who attend Suisun City Schools.
Today, the Suisun City Youth Commission has grown its collaboration within a consortium of youth-oriented public benefit organizations. Together with the consortium, the Suisun City Youth Commission directly contributes to our community's healthy and sustainable development. The Suisun City Youth Commission fosters peer-to-peer self-development and positive peer and adult relationships through the many opportunities we gain working within the consortium.
Our mission is "Empowering youth with tools to engage in meaningful discussion that inspires action to grow and enhance knowledge about our Suisun City Community and the world."
The Suisun City Youth Commission's seven cornerstones are:

These seven cornerstones ensure our commitment to young people and promote prosocial friendships, builds strong interpersonal ties, and reassert a sense of hope in the future.

For the past 19 years, the Suisun City Youth Commission has proudly served as a cornerstone of youth and family services in our community. With your support, we’ve accomplished so much together, including growing Juneteenth-Suisun into a flagship celebration that has empowered new businesses and fostered a deep sense of pride within Suisun City and neighboring communities.

Our impact extends beyond Juneteenth. The Suisun City Youth Commission has played a key role in commemorating Veterans Day Suisun, celebrating Kwanzaa Suisun, hosting Chess Nights at the Solano Town Center, the Suisun Library's Town Hall Candidates Forum and organizing countless other events that put youth and family engagement at the heart of what we do.

Now, we are honored to be nominated for the 2025 Best of Buzz Award in the Non-Profit Excellence category—and we need your vote to bring this recognition home!
